BCMG gave the world premiere of Dai Fujikura's Shō Concerto on Sunday 13 April 2025 at CBSO Centre, Birmingham with Yuki Deai as solosist, conducted by Kazuki Yamada.

My Shō Concerto is based on my solo shō piece titled Ai.

I developed this solo piece into a concerto, aiming to capture the aura of Ai - the sounds emerging from the pipes of the mouth organ, the shō - resonating and resolving into the ensemble with an ever-changing spectrum of sonic colour.
