Birmingham Contemporary Music Group has an all-year-round programme of free composing and creative music workshops for young people. These workshops are designed for different age groups and often link to BCMG concerts. As well as three regular workshop series, we have one-off concerts for young people and special events, so keep an eye out!
Music Maze (school years 3 to 6): creative music-making workshops for children. Everyone is welcome whether they play a musical instrument or not.
BCMG Young Composers (school years 7 to 9): termly opportunity, across 4 workshops, to compose for 1 or 2 BCMG musicians guided by a professional composer.
Creative Composing Lab (school years 10 to 13): termly opportunity to compose for a trio of BCMG musicians, guided by a professional composer.
Composing workshop for young people aged 14-18 (school years 10 - 13). Spend the day composing for BCMG's amazing professional musicians guided by composer David Horne. Read more
