Join us for an evening of music, words and food exploring Belonging in the Arts and Humanities

BCMG, the College of Arts and Law at the University of Birmingham and SAMPAD would like to invite you to an evening of words, music and food celebrating and encouraging careers and pathways in the arts and humanities. We want you to help us to reflect and understand what belonging in the arts and humanities might look, sound and feel like.

This event is for young people (school years 8 and above) and their parents/guardians or teachers. In particular, we want to welcome young people with Black and South Asian heritage. Unfortunately, due to limited spaces, we are unable to offer tickets to children under the age of 12.

This evening has been curated by BCMG musicians, workshop leaders, composers, friends and postgraduate researchers from the University of Birmingham including...

....including Reisz Amos - composer, director, producer, Kirsty Devaney - composer, researcher, lecturer and music educator, Melinda Maxwell - BCMG oboist, composer, music educator, researcher and improvisor, Bhavik Parmar - Executive Director SAMPAD, David Austin Grey - composer, pianist and workshop leader and Amrit Sohal - French horn player, workshop leader and Director of Motherland Music CIC.

This project is funded by the University of Birminghams's ASPIRE programme (Access to Success Pathways for Inclusive Research Excellence) and is one of 20 pilot programmes funded by Wellcome Trust as part of a portfolio of activity to support positive and inclusive organisational research cultures.
